ntensive Hold Me Tight (HMT) retreats for couples.\n\n&nbsp\;\nProgram Des
cription\nEFT is a structured\, experiential model of couple therapy\, roo
ted in adult attachment theory\, that helps partners move from conflict\,
distance and distress to increased openness\, trust and deeper emotional e
ngagement. As reactive cycles of conflict and distance that fuel distress
are identified and resolved\, the therapist then helps couples access and
expand the underlying vulnerable emotions so partners shift their relation
ship to one of secure engagement\, leading to a strong and enduring attach
ment bond.\n\nThe effectiveness of EFT is strongly supported by over 30 ye
ars of respected outcome research\, with success rates of up to 70%\, and
a growing body of process research that helps identify the most impactful
interventions that help create lasting change. At least two-thirds of ther
apists see couples in their practice and many lack a clear\, empirically s
upported treatment model that increases effectiveness. This introductory p
rogram provides both new and experienced therapists the theory and basic p
ractice concepts as used with diverse populations and presenting issues.\n
\nThis detailed overview utilizes video examples\, brief exercises and dis
cussion to facilitate participants’ understanding of EFT.\nLearning Obje
ctives\nParticipants will be able to:\n1. Describe couple distress from an
attachment perspective\n2. Name and describe 3 adult attachment styles\n3
. Identify the three key change events of EFT\n4. Distinguish features of
primary and secondary emotion\n5. Describe process of moving between indiv
idual and relational focus\n\nRegister now to learn more about EFT and how
it can serve well with your clinical work with couples!
