 tion to becoming parents together is universally recognized as one of the 
 major stressors for a relationship and associated with dramatic declines i
 n relationship satisfaction. In this Local Learning\, we will explore the 
 unique ways that the postpartum period brings up attachment needs and long
 ings and how these can exacerbate or create a negative conflict cycle. Usi
 ng an illustrative case example\, we will explore integrating psychoeducat
 ion for new parents into the micro-interventions of EFT and using the coup
 le’s enactments to heal past and or current relational traumas.\nEvent D

  professional boards.\nLearning Objectives\n\n 	Participants will identify
  at least two common “view of self” and “view of other” attachment
  themes that are evoked in the transition to parenthood.\n 	Participants w
 ill learn at least two important ways to integrate psychoeducation for new
  parents in the micro-interventions of EFT.\n 	Participants will develop a
 wareness of relational traumas that are evoked in new parenthood and ways 
 to facilitate healing enactments between the couple around these themes.\n
 \nAbout the Presenter\n\n\nNikki Lively is a Licensed Clinical Social Work
 er with twenty years of experience in providing individual\, couples\, and
  parent-infant psychotherapy\, and specializes in the treatment of perinat
 al mood and anxiety disorders\, and the impact of these disorders on partn
 er relationships. Ms. Lively has served as a consultant and trainer for th
 e Illinois Perinatal Mental Health Project\, a statewide initiative to tra
 in providers in the screening and assessment of depression during and afte
 r pregnancy\, and now frequently provides professional development worksho
 ps to psychotherapists on working with perinatal women\, couples and famil
 ies.\n\nMs. Lively is a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist (E
 FT) and an EFT Supervisor-in-Training. Ms. Lively is currently the Clinica
 l Director of the Transitions to Parenthood Program and a staff therapist 
 at The Family Institute at Northwestern University where she maintains a c
 linical practice working with women and families\, as well as provides cli
 nical supervision\, training and consultation.\n\nMs. Lively received her 
 graduate training at the University of Chicago’s School of Social Servic
 e Administration from which she holds a Masters degree in Social Work\, an
 d the Erikson Institute from which she completed the certificate program i
 n Infant Mental Health.\n\n&nbsp\;
