About the Workshop
Over 10% of Americans aged 65 and older have an Alzheimer’s diagnosis. Of those 6.7 million, 5-6% develop Alzheimer’s between the ages of 30 and 65. At any age Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia wreak havoc on families both emotionally and financially. This workshop will prepare participants to assess for memory loss in existing clients, treat the relational issues that arise due to memory loss, and to know when to transition to individual care for each partner. This workshop will meet the IDFPR CE requirement for licensed health care professionals. The workshop will be recorded for later viewing. However, participants must be present for the live event to earn CEs.
Learning Objectives
Participants will learn to:
- Assess for memory loss in existing therapy clients.
- Treat the relational issues that arise due to memory loss.
- Identify the point at which a transition to individual care is appropriate.
